74 No Stopping Him Now

John 11:45-57, TBC Book Two, Chapter 74
Word spread quickly through Jerusalem and then all Judea—Jesus of Nazareth had just raised a man from the dead! Lazarus had been dead for four days. He was wrapped in grave clothes and placed in a tomb. Many Jews had come from Jerusalem to mourn his death. When they heard the prayer of Jesus and saw Lazarus step out of the tomb, they were shocked. They knew that no one has power over death except the author of life, God himself. Now here, standing before them, was a man who had come back from the dead—and the one who had brought him back to life. This man known as Jesus could only be the Messiah, the Son of God!

Right away some of the Jews rushed to the Pharisees to tell them what they had seen. “We tell you, we saw it with our own eyes—Jesus of Nazareth raised Lazarus from the dead! How could this man be anyone else but the Messiah?”

When the Pharisees heard that, they immediately arranged for a meeting of the Sanhedrin. . . .
