A man came along who was covered from head to foot with a skin disease. When the people saw him, they backed away. Though people knew his disease was not contagious, they feared to touch him. With his head bent down, the man dropped to his knees. “Lord,” he said, “if you are willing to do it, I know you can make me clean.” Jesus looked at the man. Filled with compassion, he bent down, put his hand on the man’s shoulder, and said, “I am willing. Be clean!” Immediately, the man’s skin began to change. . . . One group was carrying a paralyzed man. If only they could get him inside the house where Jesus was! But they weren’t even close to the door.
