228 Show Me Your Glory

Exodus 33:1-23; 34:1-35, TBC Book One, Chapter 42
A surge of fear swept through Moses as he heard the Lord’s decision: “You are to leave this place and travel to the land I promised your forefathers, but I will not go with you. For you are a stubborn people, and I might destroy you. . . .”

God’s latest piece of news made Moses feel like he was losing his best friend. “You have told me to lead these people,” Moses said. “I have some concerns about that. Since you know me by name, and you say I have found favor with you, then stay with me and teach me your ways. And please—do not send us away unless you go with us.”

“Very well,” the Lord said, “my Presence will go with you.”

Moses pondered his next request, for it was a bold one: “Lord, show me your glory. . . .”
