224 Free at Last!

Exodus 12:30-14:31, TBC Book One, Chapter 38
Loud wailing was heard from every home in Egypt. Every family mourned the death of their firstborn. In the middle of the night, Pharaoh sent for Moses and Aaron. 

“Leave us,” he said. “Go, worship your Lord. Take your families, your flocks, and your herds. And bless me.”

The Egyptians urged the Israelites to hurry and leave, fearing they would all die. . . . Six hundred thousand men, besides women and children, traveled with their livestock. . . . The Lord went ahead of them, leading them in a pillar of cloud by day and a pillar of fire by night. . . .

After the Israelites fled, Pharaoh and his officials began having second thoughts. “What have we done? We have lost the services of our slaves!”

So once again, God hardened Pharaoh’s heart. Taking more than 600 chariots, Pharaoh and his soldiers pursued the Israelites. . . .
