220 God’s Dynamic Duo

Exodus 3:13-22; 4:1-31, TBC Book One, Chapter 34
One doubt after another swept over Moses as he beheld the figure in the flames. Had the Lord really chosen him to lead God’s people out of Egypt? . . . But the image remained before him and did not disappear.

Moses took a deep breath. “Suppose I tell the Israelites you have sent me. They will ask me, ‘Who has sent you? What is his name?’ What shall I say to them?”

“Say, ‘ “I Am” has sent you, the God of your fathers Abraham, Isaac, and Israel.’ Now go and call together the elders of Israel. . . .” 

“O Lord,” Moses said, “I have never been eloquent. I’m not a good speaker. . . . Please, Lord,” Moses begged, “send someone else to do it.”

At this, the Lord grew angry. . . .
