Exodus 1:1-22; 2:1-10, TBC Book One, Chapter 32
Joseph’s generation had long passed, but their descendants became so numerous that they drew the attention of Pharaoh. Of course, this was not the same Pharaoh who appointed Joseph as governor. Hundreds of years had passed since then, and few knew of Joseph. What they did know was that these Hebrews were multiplying like grasshoppers. Soon they would outnumber the Egyptians. . . . 

For this reason, Pharaoh forced the Hebrews into slavery. . . . The Egyptians worked them ruthlessly, having them make bricks and mortar. But the more they were oppressed, the more they multiplied. Pharaoh knew he must do something to stop their growth. . . .
