Genesis 17:1-27; 18:1-15, TBC Book One, Chapter 13
Thirteen years after Ishmael was born, the Lord once again appeared to Abram. “I am God Almighty. Walk before me and be faultless. I will confirm [with you] my covenant. . . .”

Abram fell facedown as the Lord continued to speak to him.

“This is my everlasting covenant. Your name will now be Abraham, for I have made you a father of many nations. Your descendants will be kings, and I will give you the land of Canaan. . . . Now you must keep my covenant. . . . As for your wife, Sarai, from now call her Sarah” (meaning “princess”). “I will bless her, and surely I will give you a son by her. She will become the mother of nations. . . .”

Once again, Abraham fell down in worship. But he laughed within. Will a son be born to a man who is 100 years old? Will Sarah bare a child at age 90? And what about Ishmael? . . .
