184 Seven Bowls—the Seven Last Plagues

Revelation 15–16, TBC Book Two, Chapter 184
John saw in heaven a magnificent sign—seven angels bearing the seven last plagues, the completion of God’s wrath. Before him appeared what looked like a sea of glass mixed with fire. Beside it stood those who had triumphed over the beast and his image and over the number of his name. Playing harps given by God, they sang the song of Moses and the Lamb.

As he gazed into heaven, John saw the temple, the tabernacle of testimony, being opened. From it came seven angels in bright linen, each wearing a golden sash. One of the four creatures handed them seven bowls, all containing the wrath of God. The temple filled with smoke from God’s glory and his power: No one could enter the temple until the plagues were completed.

A voice from the temple said, “Go—pour out the bowls of God’s wrath on the earth.”

The first angel poured his bowl onto the land. Ugly, painful sores broke out upon those who received the mark of the beast and worshipped his image.

The second angel poured his bowl into the seas. The seas turned into blood, and every creature and living thing within them died.

The third angel poured his bowl upon the rivers and springs, and they too became blood. 

Then the third angel said, “You are just in these judgments, Holy One, you who are and who were, for they have shed the blood of your saints and the blood of the prophets. You have given them blood to drink, which is what they deserve.”

A voice from the altar responded, “Yes, Lord God Almighty, your judgments are indeed true and just.”

The fourth angel poured his bowl on the sun, giving it power to scorch people with fire. Intense heat now seared earth’s inhabitants, and they cursed God, who controlled these plagues, but they refused to repent and glorify him. . . .
